Ethiopia, IMF Discuss Reform Progress

Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Ahmed Shide led a high-level delegation in Washington for talks with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on ongoing reforms and future cooperation. Shide highlighted progress in fiscal management, domestic resource mobilization, and structural transformation. The IMF praised Ethiopia’s growth and reform momentum, pledging continued support. Discussions also covered debt treatment, access to the Resilience and Sustainability Facility, and climate resilience initiatives aimed at sustaining economic stability and private sector expansion.
