Gayi to Open Breaking the Norm Exhibit

Absa L’Atelier 2023 Ambassador Eric Joe Gayi will open his solo exhibition, Breaking the Norm, at The Summit Residences in Kampala with Amasaka Gallery. Gayi uses detailed ballpoint pen drawings to celebrate Afro hair as a symbol of identity, resilience, and cultural pride. His work examines conformity, authenticity, and societal pressures. The exhibition highlights Absa L’Atelier’s goal to support emerging African artists and spark dialogue on beauty, heritage, and self-expression.
