Somali Arrivals in India Up 144%

India’s foreign tourist arrivals from Somalia surged 144% between 2019 and 2024, rising from 5,044 to 12,320 visitors—the only country to post triple-digit growth. The Ministry of Tourism reported 99.5 lakh total FTAs in 2024, slightly below pre-COVID levels, but growth from North America, Europe, and Africa signals a strong rebound. Analysts expect arrivals to surpass 2019 volumes by 2026, supported by improved visa policies and global tourism promotion.
