MSMEs backed to Lift GDP

Safaricom has refocused on supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to grow its contribution to Kenya’s GDP beyond 8%. The initiative centers on helping micro-businesses, those with fewer than ten employees, scale into small and medium enterprises through digital tools, training (via the “Grow with Safaricom Business” forums), credit access, and tailored tech solutions. Safaricom says MSMEs generated nearly 40% of GDP and employ around 80% of Kenyans.
