DAP-K Threatens Exit Over By-Election

The Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K) warned it will leave the opposition coalition if the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) does not withdraw its candidate from the Malava by-election. DAP-K chair Patrick Butichi said the party will not tolerate competing candidates within the coalition. The warning follows IEBC’s clearance of DAP-K’s Seth Panyako to contest the seat left vacant after MP Malulu Injendi’s death in February 2025.
