2026 Presidential Campaigns Start

Uganda’s Electoral Commission (EC) released the official campaign schedule for the 2026 presidential election, launching nationwide campaigns on Sept. 29, 2025. Candidates, including President Yoweri Museveni, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), Mugisha Muntu, and Nandala Mafabi, will address supporters across districts such as Munyonzo, Jinja, Mityana, Buikwe, and Kawempe. Over 100 districts and municipalities are set to host rallies until Jan. 12, 2026, with the EC assigning venues daily to ensure orderly, clash-free campaigns.
