Abiy Seeks Peaceful Sea Access

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed reiterated the country’s pursuit of access to the sea through peaceful means and in accordance with international law. Speaking at the launch of his book ‘Medemer State’ in Addis Ababa, he emphasized that Ethiopia seeks to resolve the issue via dialogue and negotiation, not conflict. Abiy framed sea access as critical for national development, trade, and reducing dependence on neighboring ports, while urging national unity to support the diplomatic effort.
