Airlink Launches Joburg–Zanzibar Route

South Africa’s Airlink will launch twice-weekly flights between Johannesburg and Zanzibar starting June 3, 2026, expanding its network in Tanzania. The route will use the airline’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, seating up to 136 passengers. Airlink aims to strengthen regional connectivity and support tourism and business travel to the island, which has a growing economy driven by tourism, agriculture, and investment in its developing blue economy sectors.
