Shide Urges Fairer Global Finance

Finance Minister Ahmed Shide called for reforms to create a fairer global financial system that supports debt- and climate-vulnerable nations. Speaking at the V20 Ministerial Dialogue in Washington, D.C., he urged expanded access to concessional financing, climate grants, and debt-for-climate swaps. Shide also met Gavi CEO Dr. Sania Nishtar to discuss strengthening health partnerships, with Gavi noting Ethiopia’s progress in immunization and public health programs.
