Kenyan Officer Dies in Haiti Crash

On August 31, 2025, Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve, a 41-year-old member of Kenya’s Rapid Deployment Unit, died in a road accident during a Multinational Security Support Mission convoy operation in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Two armoured MaxxPro vehicles were involved, resulting in his death and one civilian fatality. Eight other Kenyan officers were injured, three seriously; they are receiving treatment, some airlifted to the Dominican Republic. Plans to repatriate the officer’s body to Kenya are underway.
