Venezuela to Open Embassy in Zimbabwe

Venezuela announced plans to open new embassies in Zimbabwe while closing missions in Norway and Australia. President Nicolas Maduro’s government said the move is part of a “strategic re-assignment of resources” aimed at strengthening ties with “sister nations” opposing Western influence. The decision comes amid rising tensions with the US and follows opposition leader Maria Corina Machado winning the Nobel Peace Prize for her pro-democracy activism.
